This blog is about anything I feel like writing about on any given day. :-) This blog is NOT about upsetting anyone about anything. It's simply my ramblings about things. For entertainment purposes only.

My new phone
I recently got a new phone that has a slide out keyboard for texting and such. Well, I find that I'm the entertainment for my children now. It's fun for them to see me try and figure the thing out since my other phone was very basic. I thought it was funny that when your kids are growing up, you laugh at them sometimes when you watch them try and figure some things out for themselves. Now...as you age the tables turn and your adult children are laughing at you as they watch you struggle with new technology. I think I have figured out the phone but I did have to spend a little time at it. It's all "change" and that's not easy for some of us for some reason. I'm a good sport though, and I tell them I'm just here for their entertainment. Some day their children will be laughing at them too. LOL

Amazon Kindle
I was asked around Christmas whether or not I would like to have a Kindle. I had read about them and knew what they were but wasn't at all sure I would like not holding an actual book with pages to turn in my hands.
I had gotten a coat for Christmas that didn't fit. We returned it and since I had received yet another coat for Christmas, I decided not to replace it. I had just about enough money from the return to consider the Kindle. I got brave and ordered the darn thing! LOL.
Turns out, I LOVE it! It has been so much fun browsing the Amazon Kindle store for books at either a much cheaper price than an actual book or even for free! I would reccomend it to anyone who likes to read and is on the fence about getting one.
I have just totally enjoyed it! (I acutally might have been on here more if I hadn't gotten one. LOL..I've been busy reading.)
Anyway, if you are wondering if it is a good thing, I say "Go for it!"
Ups and downs
Well...what can I say? It's been a while since I've been here doing one of the things I like to do best. Life has been so crazy that I've been overwhelmed and couldn't add one more thing to my days it seems.
Both my sons have had health issues. Need I say what that does to the Mom? Even though I know they are safely in the arms of God, being the human that I am, I worry.
It seemed like the job change I made from office assistant to Customer Service Rep. was an adjustment that took all the energy and focus I had for a while. Is it a good thing that my friend insomnia is back? (Isn't there some song about that? If you are a reader and know the answer to that, I'd like to know.) I also have Myspace and Facebook accounts that I try and keep up with.
Always, always, there are friends and family that need thoughts and prayers, not to mention those people in Japan. Wow! I cannot seem to wrap my mind around such an event. I see videos and read the stories but due to the fact that we are so far away, it's hard to feel close to it all. I was thankful that my brother wasn't over there on one of his business trips when it all went down. If you are from Japan and are reading this, you all have my sympathy. I pray God will hold you all in the palm of his hand. This is one of those events that I cannot understand in my human state. God only knows....

Snow Emergencies
Now seems to be a good time to talk about snow emergencies in respect to the reactions / inactions of the employer. It seems to me that businesses ought to care about the health and safety of their workers. Somehow, making those workers stay to work when the snow emergency has reached a level 3 seems irresponsible, not to mention presenting a bad public image. So what if the production schedule takes a hit? What about a hit that employee's family would take if the individual can't make it home on the unsafe roads and gets hurt or worse?
Hhmm... just food for thought. Maybe if the businesses can't be responsible on their own, there should be a law in place concerning it all.

It's always hard
I've been away for quite a while because life has been so full. But, anyone who knows me well would expect me to be here at this time. It's just me.
It's always hard to lose a pet. Our family lost our dog who was with us for 14 years. She meant a lot to each and every one of us. Unfortunately, the time came when we had to end her suffering. There was not a dry eye in our home and we are all missing her very much. We miss her greeting us when we come in the door. We miss the sound her feet made when they clicked across the wood floor in the night. She gave her love unconditionally to all of us and never held a grudge about anything. She sat by my chair every night. She was a jealous dog at times. She would bark if I talked on the phone, giving someone else my attention. She was smart too. She knew that if she went outside to potty, it resulted in her favorite "bone" treats. If anyone so much as sneezed, she was right there trying to find out what was wrong. She knew....she cared about all of us.
We miss her and it will be a while before the household seems normal again. But, this is home and always will be.
Thank you Lord for blessing us with such a fine lovable pet for so many years.

Slow this train down!
Did you ever feel like life is just flying by because you work 6 days a week and have way too much going on? Don't really know how to fix it either. So many things I would like to do and no time or no money to do them. Yikes! It seems like it's Monday and then all of a sudden it's Friday again. Seriously...slow this thing down!!!

It's Been A While
It's been a while since I've been here. The learning of the new job has had my attention and some other things going on concerning an ill friend. The job is becoming easier as each day passes. Things that I viewed as difficult at first no longer seem so. But, that is the transition isn't it? You do, you learn, you get it.
Here it is March already and it's more than half over. I am ready for spring! (Summer is my fav though.) The bad part about spring is not knowing how to dress because the weather can vary so much from one day to the next. I froze today!
More to come......stay tuned.

Behind
I am behind on the posting I wanted to do and reading of other blogs I wanted to read. But, I guess as the holidays close in on me, it's not going to get better right away. So, I guess to update, Tony got a buck this season. An 8 point. The only one left who hasn't scored this year was their dear ol' Dad. Better luck next time out Jim! :-)
One week down
Well, the 1st week of the new job has come and gone. I survived. LOL It was a stressful week but I don't know how you can skip that with a new job when there is a lot to learn. I guess pacing yourself is all you can do. It gets better every day and for that I am thankful. God has been good. :-)

New job
Day one of the new job has come and gone. There was much information presented as I tried to drink it in. I think if I give myself a chance, I will like it. I tend to be very hard on myself, as I am a perfectionist. I think I have to get it all the very 1st time I try to do it. I'm a harsh judge on myself and I know I need to lighten up a bit. I expect more from myself even then others do. That's the personality though. God made me like that for some reason and I guess in some instances it is a plus. As I go into day two I pray God is with me and those instructing me. We all have the same goal which is to make it all work. It is a "rambling" day for the blog. Sorry about that but sleep comes easier after writing it down for some reason. It's like talking to someone but no one has to listen. LOL. Enough for tonight.

Congratulations to Whitney
I don't even want to think about how long it might take me to catch up on blog reading. I've been so preoccupied that I haven't gotten to it. The news of this week is that Whitney got her 1st trophy buck on Sunday. It was a fun day for her and quite an achievement for a 1st time hunter. We are proud of you Whit!

New Job
Well, I have a new job to go to on Nov. 16Th. I am both excited and nervous, as it's been a long time since I have started a new job. I have high hopes for this one and I'm hoping it will be less stressful for me. I still have one week left at my current job so my mind is in both places. So, I guess I feel like I have a lot going on inside concerning all of it. I've been where I am for about 8 years. It wasn't easy to take the step to decide to get something else and wasn't something I had originally planned to do. It just goes to show you that you don't know what your future holds for you. If someone had told me years ago that this is what I would do, I'd probably had said "no way". But, here I am.
There are many benefits to going to the new job. I have already met some of the people and am eager to work with them. It is hard to leave somewhere you have been for that long though. Time will tell the story of how it all works out and I'm sure I will elaborate more as time goes on.
On to the future!
